Der zweisprachige Band vereint die beiden Projekte, die Ilit Azoulay für das Museum VILLA STUCK realisiert hat: Stopover und No Single View. 2024 zog das Museum während der Sanierung der Künstlerresidenz in ein unscheinbares Haus an der Münchner Goethestraße 54. Azoulay wurde eingeladen, sich mit der Baustelle und dem Interimsquartier auseinanderzusetzen. Mit „Stopover“ richtete sie den Blick auf die Geschichte des Gebäudes, das in der NS-Zeit als Zwangsunterkunft für jüdische Menschen diente. „No Single View“ führt diese Recherche nun in die Villa Stuck selbst – zu den Menschen, die mit ihr verbunden waren und sind.
Das Buch versammelt großformatige Fotografien aller Arbeiten sowie Texte, die sich der künstlerischen Praxis aus literarischer, essayistischer und kunsttheoretischer Perspektive nähern und damit selbst die Vielstimmigkeit des Werks widerspiegeln. Die Beiträge stammen von Nora Gomringer, Helena Pereña, Sabine Schmid und Jonathan Touitou.
Anlässlich der Buchpräsentation sprechen die Künstlerin Ilit Azoulay, der Buchgestalter Marel Polewski und die Kuratorin Helena Pereña über die Entstehung der Projekte, der Publikation und ihre Zusammenarbeit.

The bilingual volume brings together the two projects Ilit Azoulay realized for Museum VILLA STUCK: Stopover and No Single View. In 2024, while the historic Villa Stuck was undergoing renovation, the museum temporarily relocated to an unassuming building at Goethestraße 54 in Munich. Azoulay was invited to engage with both the construction site and the interim location. In Stopover, she turned her attention to the building's history, uncovering its use as forced accommodation for Jewish people during the Nazi era. No Single View now extends this research into Villa Stuck itself, exploring the lives of the people who have been connected to it, both past and present.
The publication features large-format reproductions of all the works alongside texts that approach Azoulay's artistic practice from literary, essayistic, and art-theoretical perspectives, reflecting the polyphony that characterizes her work. Contributions are by Nora Gomringer, Helena Pereña, Sabine Schmid, and Jonathan Touitou.
On the occasion of the book launch, artist Ilit Azoulay, book designer Marel Polewski, and curator Helena Pereña will discuss the development of the projects, the publication, and their collaboration.
